About
Dr. Pierce is a board-certified perinatal-neonatal medicine physician. She graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor. She completed her residency and fellowship in perinatal-neonatal medicine at the University of Miami in Florida. Dr. Pierce joined the NICU team at CHRISTUS Children's in 1997 and she has served as the program’s medical director since 2000.
Dr. Pierce’s clinical interests and areas of expertise are Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), persistent pulmonary hypertension, congenital diaphragmatic hernia and neonatal transport. She has been an ECMO physician since 1993. Her clinical research interests include premature lung disease and retinopathy of prematurity. She has published more than 60 articles in peer-reviewed journals. In her spare time, she enjoys playing golf.
