Lake Charles, Louisiana - CHRISTUS Ochsner Health Southwestern Louisiana has again revolutionized the operating room with another innovative tool adding to the region's most advanced collection of spine surgery technology.

The Neurosurgery team at CHRISTUS Ochsner St. Patrick Hospital has added the Excelsius3D™, a 3-in-1 imaging system. The system has several smart features that enhance the platform’s versatility and capability with a very compact footprint.

“We are excited about adding Excelsius3D™ intraoperative imaging system to our operating room technology suite. This unified solution eliminates the need for multiple imaging devices throughout one procedure, and the compact footprint amplifies the system’s agility and usability. The Excelsius™ Technology tools allow our Neurosurgery team to provide more efficient care for our patients,” said Jim Davidson, President and Chief Executive Officer, CHRISTUS Ochsner St. Patrick Hospital.

By combining cone-beam CT, fluoroscopy, and digital radiography, the system eliminates the need for multiple imaging devices throughout a spine surgery procedure. Excelsius3D™ integrates haptic-touch response and smart position memory to enhance execution, eliminate redundancies, and boost procedural automation.

Excelsius3D™ combined with ExcelsiusGPS®, a revolutionary robotic navigation platform, is designed to improve implant placement accuracy, lower radiation exposure, and shorten operative times.
