The CHRISTUS Ochsner SWLA Foundation is thrilled to announce a generous donation of $5,000 from the Junior League of Lake Charles Inc., which funded the purchase of two Wunderwagons for pediatric patients at CHRISTUS Ochsner Lake Area Hospital.

With their bright colors and exciting designs, Wunderwagons provide child-friendly and eco-conscious means of transportation within the hospital, offering pediatric patients and their caregivers a sense of normalcy and comfort during their stay or visit at CHRISTUS Ochsner Lake Area Hospital.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Junior League of Lake Charles for the generous donation that made the purchase of our two new Wuderwagons possible,” said Crystal Rollins, emergency department director at CHRISTUS Ochsner Lake Area Hospital. “These wagons not only provide a fun way for families to navigate our emergency department, but they also make the experience much less scary. It has been a joy to see the smiles and laughter the new wagons have brought to our patients.”

Wunderwagons are a safe and fun alternative to traditional child patient transport. Designed specifically for health care settings, the Wunderwagon is renowned for its durability and reliability, making it a preferred choice for over 250 leading children’s hospitals. Key features of the Wunderwagon include a heavy-duty design (rated to carry more than 250 lbs.), easy-to-clean and germ-resistant high-density polyethylene panels, rounded panel edges for safety, protected moving parts inside wagon panels and a precision-tightened handle hinge.
