CHRISTUS Southeast Texas - St. Elizabeth celebrates its trauma director, Kathy Rodgers for receiving the Excellence in Nursing Practice Award from Lamar University.
This prestigious award recognizes exceptional contributions in nursing practice and patient care while highlighting the ability to provide compassionate and effective care to those in need.
“I’ve been asked many times what I would be if I were not a nurse, but I can honestly say I’ve always known this was the path for me,” Rodgers said. “Nursing is not a job but is the essence of who I am. I am completely humbled and honored to have been chosen to receive this award by my peers and alma mater.”
Rodgers was also appointed to the Trauma Systems Committee. This statewide Texas committee plays a vital role in reviewing critical issues and providing recommendations to the Governor's EMS and Trauma Advisory Council.
“Congratulations to Kathy,” said Paul Trevino, chief executive officer of CHRISTUS Southeast Texas Health System. “We are not surprised by her well-deserved recognition for the exceptional work she does. She embodies our CHRISTUS mission and core values, and we are so proud to have her on our team.”
