Two Local Orthopedic Specialists to Join CHRISTUS Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute in Longview

CHRISTUS Health is excited to announce the addition of Drs. Charles Grooters and Britton Plemmons to the talented team at CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic in the CHRISTUS Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute in Longview.

Grooters and Plemmons both join CHRISTUS after successful careers at Longview Orthopaedic Clinic Association.

A graduate of Marshall High School, Plemmons holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Studies from Texas Tech University and earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from New York College of Podiatric Medicine.

He is board certified by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery – Forefoot/Rearfoot and Ankle Reconstruction. Among his areas of expertise, he specializes in total ankle replacement, foot and ankle trauma, Achilles tendon surgery, flatfoot correction, and diabetic foot and ankle conditions.

“I am excited to join CHRISTUS Health and have access to a large network of resources and providers that will allow me to continue to provide top-notch care to East Texas,” Plemmons said. “I am from East Texas, my family and I love it here, so I am excited that I am able to continue providing care to my community.”

Born in Mt. Pleasant, Grooters earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University before completing medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.

He has been a member of the Society of Military Orthopedic Surgeons, the Texas Orthopedic Association and is board certified by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

Prior to coming to Longview, he spent time at Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital in Fort Polk, Louisiana where he earned a Meritorious Service Medal.

He earned an Army Commendation Medal and Combat Action Badge for his action while serving at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Warrior in Afghanistan.

“I am very excited to join CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic and am looking forward to continuing to provide quality care for my patients,” Grooters said. “My family and I have been here for nearly 10 years; we have built great relationships within the community, and I look forward to continuing to serve.”

Dr. Plemmons will start seeing patients beginning on Jan. 1, while Dr. Grooters will see patients beginning Jan. 8.

Each will be officed at the CHRISTUS Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Institute at 3133 Good Shepherd Way in Longview.
