Alaa H. Younes, M.D., F.A.C.C., F.S.C.A.I. is an interventional cardiologist at CHRISTUS Heart & Vascular Institute in Alexandria, Louisiana. He completed his medical degree at Damascus University School of Medicine in Syria and continued his training in the United States. Dr. Younes completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Chief Medical Resident roles at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He then pursued a Cardiology Fellowship at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, followed by an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Texas in Houston.

Dr. Younes is board-certified in interventional cardiology, nuclear cardiology, cardiovascular medicine, and internal medicine. He holds several licenses, including the Nuclear Medicine Licensure, and is licensed to practice in multiple states, including Louisiana and Michigan.

With a career spanning over two decades, Dr. Younes has held significant academic and clinical positions, including Assistant Professor of Medicine at Tulane University School of Medicine and Physician Coordinator at Huey P. Long Medical Center. He has been recognized with numerous awards and honors, including the "Best Doctors of America" Award, Strathmore's Who's Who Certification for Excellence in Medical Practice, and the Top Cardiologist Award.

Dr. Younes is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Cardiology, the American Medical Association, and the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Intervention. His research interests include the study of insulin sensitivity in relation to arterial hypertension and diabetes mellitus, with numerous presentations and publications to his credit.
