G. Andrew Helms, MD, FACS, FCCP is a board certified and fellowship trained thoracic surgeon with nearly 2 decades of extensive experience. He obtained his Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering with Honors from Georgia Institute of Technology and continued on to receive his Master of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics at Stanford University. Dr. Helms earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Alabama, completed his General Surgery Internship at the University of Southern California, completed General Surgery Residency and Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship training at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and attended Thoracic Surgery Fellowship training at the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Helms has authored numerous peer-reviewed journals, articles and presentations. He enjoys surfing, mountain biking and flying gliders (sailplanes).
