Armando Elizondo, MD, is a distinguished general surgeon with CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Elizondo is pivotal in delivering high-quality surgical care to patients across South Texas. Dr. Elizondo's clinical expertise spans a broad range of surgical capabilities, especially regarding the innovative applications of robotic surgery in hernia repairs, gallbladder disease, emergency surgery, and gastrointestinal operations. A native of Laredo, TX, Dr. Elizondo's journey in medicine began with a degree in biology and a minor in music from Texas A&M International University. He pursued his medical education at the University of Texas Medical Branch, followed by a comprehensive general surgery residency at Texas A&M College of Medicine/Baylor Scott & White Medical Center. During his residency, Dr. Elizondo distinguished himself as a certified Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) instructor and mastered utilizing the DaVinci Xi robotic surgical platform.
Dr. Elizondo's commitment to excellence extends beyond his technical skills. He was elected by his peers to the Gold Humanism Honor Society and holds memberships in esteemed organizations such as the American College of Surgeons. Outside of the operating room, Dr. Elizondo's passions include music, reflected in his past roles as a cellist in the Galveston Symphony Orchestra and Laredo Philharmonic Orchestra and his involvement in local bands as a guitarist. His other interests include fishing, cooking, attending Texas Country shows, and exploring new restaurants with his wife.
