Meet Benjamin Yan, MD

Dr. Benjamin Yan is a board-certified radiation oncologist, dedicated to helping his patients fight cancer with the use radiation therapy to cure certain types of cancer especially in their early stage, prolong survival and improve quality of life in those with more advanced or terminal stage of cancer. Dr. Yan is experienced with treatment of breast, lung, head and neck, esophageal, gastrointestinal (anorectal, liver, gastric etc.), gynecological (cervical, uterus etc.), genitourinary (prostate, bladder etc.), skincancers, lymphoma and CNS (brain and spinal cord) tumors. He also uses radiation to treat some benign diseases such as Dupuytren's contracture, heterotopic ossification and keloid.

In addition to his accomplishments in clinical oncology, Dr. Yan has made significant contributions to cancer research. As a member of American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology and American Association of Cancer Research (AACR),among others, his research has appeared in numerous medical journals and media outlets. These discoveries and achievements include identifying a tumor suppressor gene, DFF, discovering the molecular mechanism of how chronic inflammation causes cancers, and demonstrating the molecular mechanismof Pim-2 oncogene, etc.

Dr. Yan has published over 20 peer reviewed cancer research articles in influential biomedical journals and received a number of prestigious awards and honors including AACR scholar-in-training award and ASCO(American Society of Clinical Oncology) Merit Award.

Dr. Yan was named a Top Oncologist by International Association of Oncologist in 2014, and Top Doctor by 417 Magazine of Missouri in 2020. Dr. Yan was honored to be a Guest Professor of First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University in China in 2019, one of the largest hospitals in the world.
