He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Newman University in Wichita, KS, and he earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. He completed his residency in family medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler in Tyler, TX.
