Dr. Chance Moore is a board eligible, fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacements. Dr. Moore attended medical school at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at UT Health San Antonio. Deciding to obtain further specialized training under the mentorship of world-renowned surgeons, Dr. Moore completed an Adult Reconstruction Fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Moore, having completed a 5-year residency, is skilled in all aspects of orthopedic surgery but especially enjoys performing hip and knee replacements. Having lived all of his life in Texas and traveling extensively to Mexico, Dr. Moore is fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Moore manages hip and knee conditions from simple to extremely complex. He will seek conservative management whenever possible but understands when surgical intervention is necessary.  Dr. Moore offers his surgical patients a multitude of surgical options that include muscle sparing direct anterior total hip replacement, total knee replacement, revision hip and knee replacement, complex hip replacement and knee replacement, partial hip and knee replacement, hip resurfacing, knee arthroscopy, fracture surgery, robotic and navigation assisted surgery. He is also capable of treating all other orthopedic conditions of the extremities and pelvis.

Dr. Moore actively participates in medical professional societies including the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Texas Medical Association, the American Medical Association, and the Bexar County Medical Society. Dr. Moore has been an invited lecturer at AAOS and Mid-America conferences. He has also been involved in medical research on the topics of racial and ethnic disparities in Arthroplasty, hip fractures in the elderly for which he was a recipient of a National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded grant in the area of geriatric aging research. Dr. Moore has co-authored a book chapter on complex primary arthroplasties for the AAOS.

Dr. Moore’s entire life has been intertwined with health care. His interest in orthopedic surgery started at an early age from shadowing his father, an orthopedic surgeon in Austin, Texas. His interest further developed when he experienced sports injuries in high school that resulted in him seeking medical treatment by multiple orthopedic surgeons. Dr. Moore has three brothers, two of which are also practicing orthopedic surgeons in Austin. While in residency, Dr. Moore married his wife, a health care attorney practicing in San Antonio. Dr. Moore and his wife have two beautiful daughters. While not in the clinic or operating room, Dr. Moore enjoys availing himself of all Texas has to offer, including spending time on the Texas Coast fishing, hunting in South Texas, and passing time on his family’s ranch in the Texas Hill Country.
