Dr. Donald Hope is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with subspecialty fellowship training in adult reconstruction. He specializes in hip and knee replacement as well as complex revision hip and knee surgery.
Dr. Hope graduated from a rigorous 6 year B.S./M.D. program at Youngstown State University and then Northeast Ohio Medical University. Prior to graduation he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
After completing medical school he commissioned into the United States Army where he completed his residency training at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Following residency he was selected for further subspecialty training by the Army and completed an Adult Reconstruction (Hip and Knee Replacement) fellowship at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.
Dr. Hope has deployed as an orthopedic surgeon to include the Deputy Commander for Clinical Services in Kabul, Afghanistan and the Chief Medical Officer in Baghdad, Iraq.
Dr. Hope continues to serve in the United States Army as an orthopedic surgeon at Brooke Army Medical Center where he is the chief of the Adult Reconstruction Service. Additionally he enjoys teaching residents and serves as the Associate Program Director for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety for the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency program. In his spare time, he enjoys riding horses, team roping and spending time with his wife and four children.

Joint Commission experts evaluated compliance with disease-specific care standards and total hip and knee replacement requirements, including orthopedic consultation and pre-operative, intra-operative and post-surgical orthopedic surgeon follow-up care. As a result, Donald Hope, MD, has been recognized for his commitment to providing patient care safely and efficiently.
