As a board-certified general surgeon with two tours of duty with the U.S. Army in Afghanistan, Dr. McDermott is dedicated to assisting you through all stages of the bariatrics program, from preoperative evaluation and nutrition counseling, through surgery, to the immediate postoperative recovery and extended after-care.

Dr. McDermott received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He completed his general surgery residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas and completed his fellowship with the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. McDermott offers a comprehensive approach to weight loss including Gastric Sleeve and Gastric Bypass.
