About
Erica Flores Zepeda was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley and is fluent in Spanish. She completed her first undergraduate degree in Community Health at Texas A&M University - College Station then pursued her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi followed by earning her Master of Science in Nursing at The University of Texas – Arlington. She is certified in Primary and Acute Care Pediatrics.
Her passion for providing nursing care to children with orthopedic needs led her to CHRISTUS Children’s. As a pediatric orthopedic nurse practitioner, she focuses on in-toeing, out-toeing, toe walking, bowlegs, knock knees, fractures, sports injuries, and scoliosis. She has a special interest in developmental dysplasia (dislocation) of the hip (DDH) and spine.
She previously worked at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children where she was responsible for a DDH research clinic, which led to publications and presentations. She has served in leadership positions with multiple pediatric orthopedic organizations.
Her hobbies include cheering on her beloved Texas A&M Aggies, Zumba and yoga.
She enjoys spending time with her husband and young son who loves Disney, Star Wars and Super Heroes.
