Meet Karen Fife, FNP-C

Karen Fife has spent most of her life caring for children in some way. She has spent most of her life caring for children in some way, so it seemed only natural to carry that experience into a nursing career. She started out as a neonatal intensive care nurse. She has always enjoyed working with children because she feels they have pure intentions with a positive outlook and resilient nature.

"Kids bring me joy, and I feel blessed to be able to give a little something back to them and their families through happy and hard times. I also love teaching and generally find my audience of patients and parents to be receptive and grateful for their care," Karen said. She also lived overseas for several years where she learned a lot about living as a minority in another culture and navigating a different health care system. She uses this experience to relate to her patients and their families on their health care journeys.

Her professional interests include neonatal developmental care, cross-cultural medicine and enhanced communication to minimize health disparities.

Karen spends most of her free time with her adopted daughter, teaching her about compassion and caring for those in need. Together, they enjoy spoiling their rescued pets. She also enjoys sewing, gardening and camping.
