Meet Katherine Pouns, MD

Katherine Pouns, MD, brings a rich and diverse background as a general surgeon to CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in History and Asian Studies from Rice University. Her pursuit of a medical career led her to complete post-baccalaureate pre-medical studies at the University of Houston, followed by her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Pouns completed her General Surgery Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern, where she was honored with the Gary Purdue Award and served as Class President. Her commitment to excellence is reflected in her active membership with the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the North Texas College of Surgeons (NTACS).

At CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic, Dr. Pouns provides comprehensive care for patients aged 15 years and up. She prioritizes listening to her patients and integrating their personal priorities into their care plans, ensuring a patient-centered approach to treatment.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Pouns enjoys swimming, golfing, attending concerts, and traveling.
