About
Dr. Laura Wilner’s undergraduate degree in speech and language pathology serves as the foundation for her interest in helping children who need rehabilitation services due to congenital onset or acquired disabilities. As a pediatric physiatrist (physical medicine and rehabilitation physician), she enjoys working with teams of therapists and other medical specialists to coordinate the care patients need to reach their maximum potential.
She particularly enjoys caring for children due to their can-do attitude based on their innate desire to grow and develop. With a focus on patient- and family-centered care, Dr. Wilner establishes relationships between the care team and the family as they work together for the best possible outcome for each child. The team approach results in improved physical and cognitive function, reduction in condition specific complications, timely treatments and the necessary equipment needed as they grow into their young adult years.
Her professional interests include cerebral palsy, spasticity and dystonia management, orthotics, rehabilitation durable medical equipment including wheelchair seating and positioning.
Dr. Wilner is married and mother to adult twins. She enjoys traveling and attending theater productions.
