Lisardo Garcia, MD is the highly esteemed Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic in Longview, TX. Dr. Garcia-Covarrubias provides exceptional patient care and has been practicing adult cardiac surgery over the past 15 years.

Dr. Garcia's expertise encompasses a wide range of procedures, including less invasive techniques for valvular and coronary artery disease, including off pump/on-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), minimally invasive mitral valve repair/replacement, aortic valve replacement and Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). He started two TAVR programs in South Florida and is well versed in alternative access TAVR. Additional areas of expertise include ECMO, advanced heart failure and complex AICD/pacemaker lead management (extraction of malfunctioning/infected leads).

Dr. Garcia is a strong believer in a multidisciplinary approach to heart disease, routinely involving other specialties to achieve the best patient outcomes.

Dr. Garcia's commitment to excellence extends beyond his clinical practice; He was a founding faculty member and served as an Associate Professor of Surgery and Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.
