Dr. Marcela Castano was born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico and is a graduate of Universidad de Monterrey where she obtained her medical degree with Cum Laude distinction. She is fluent in English and Spanish is her native language. Her residency in Pediatrics was at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital formerly known as Miami Children’s Hospital. She graduated from residency with an award for Resident of the year by fellow residents and faculty in 2010.

Dr. Castano has been practicing pediatrics since she received her degree, and has special interest in newborn care and development. She enjoys watching her patients grow and achieve milestones. Being part of her patients’ life is an honor to her.

Dr. Castano is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is board certified. She resides in San Antonio, Tx with her husband and enjoys life with their three sons and a dog. In her free time, she enjoys baking, reading and has interest in outdoor activities.
