Dr. Cervantes earned her dental degree at the Intercontinental University at Mexico City (UIC) in 1997. After working as a general practitioner, she completed her pediatric dental residency at the UT Health - San Antonio in 2001 and earned a master’s degree in orthodontics at UIC in 2005.
Currently, she serves as the Postdoctoral Program Director in Pediatric Dentistry. As a full-time faculty, she provides didactic and clinical teaching for both pre-doctoral and post-doctoral students. Her research interests include human growth and development, cleft lip and palate, restorative materials, and caries prevention. She also maintains an intramural faculty and outside private practice oriented toward comprehensive dental care for children.
Dr. Cervantes is a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the current Chair of the AAPD Council of Postdoctoral Education, board member at large of the Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and an active member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, and San Antonio Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
