About

Dr. Kissoon graduated from Emory University in 2003 and attended medical school at University of South Florida College of Medicine from 2004-2008. She completed her pediatric residency training at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington D.C. in 2011 and a fellowship in Child Abuse Pediatrics at The Lawrence A. Aubin Sr. Child Protection Center at Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island in 2015. Dr. Kissoon is currently an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the Joe and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine and the Fellowship Program Director.

She worked as a pediatric emergency department physician in Washington, DC as well as a pediatric hospitalist in Corvallis, Oregon prior to fellowship training. Dr. Kissoon is a member of the Ray Helfer Society, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Texas Pediatric Society. She co-chairs the Helfer Fellowship Program Directors Committee and the Texas Pediatric Society Committee on Child Abuse and Neglect. She is also a member of the Executive Committee for the American Academy of Pediatrics’ Council on Child abuse and Neglect. Dr. Kissoon serves of the Child Abuse Pediatrics sub-board at the American Board of Pediatrics.
