About
Suzanne Trinkl is a doctorally-prepared, board-certified family nurse practitioner with a primary interest in high-risk obstetrics. Raised in Charleston, South Carolina, Suzanne earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of South Carolina (USC) and then worked over three years as a high-risk labor and delivery nurse at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.
In 2013, Suzanne earned both a Master of Science in Nursing and a Doctor of Nursing Practice, in addition to taking the classes required to become a Certified Nurse Educator, all from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston.
As a nurse practitioner, Suzanne treated patients of all ages in a private OB-GYN practice for over five years. In 2019, Suzanne moved to San Antonio to take a position with a private maternal-fetal medicine practice, where she treated high-risk obstetrical patients in both the outpatient and inpatient settings.
Throughout her career, Suzanne has served as a nurse educator, teaching maternal-newborn nursing and women’s health clinicals for both the USC and MUSC Colleges of Nursing. While in clinical practice, she also taught childbirth classes and served as a clinical preceptor for several nurse practitioner students. In furthering her own education, she is as an active member in several professional organizations related to women’s health and high-risk obstetrics.
Suzanne is especially interested in teaching, both her patients and members of the health-care team. She loves all caring for obstetrics patients and helping women who may have a high-risk pregnancies.
In her spare time, Suzanne loves gardening, photography, and spending time with family. She enjoys attending live events/festivals, traveling, and golfing.
