About

Dr. Thomas Novak says he has carried many titles during his career, but the one that matters most to his patients is that he is a parent. He has observed that pediatric urology includes a wide spectrum in terms of problem severity and the management required to treat it. Regardless of the complexity, however, he says having a child with any medical need is a source of parental concern; addressing that concern is often equally as important as managing the child's medical condition. Dr. Novak loves what he does every day and feels humbled by the trust parents have in allowing him to take care of what they cherish more than anything in the world -- their child.

Dr. Novak's areas of expertise include hypospadias, undescended testes, vesicoureteral reflux, hydronephrosis, UPJ obstruction, congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract, neurogenic bladder, urinary tract reconstruction and circumcision.

Dr. Novak is married to Susan Novak, MD, an esteemed San Antonio obstetrician-gynecologist. The couple has two children.
