About the Program
The program is rooted in developing sustainable processes for advancement of medication safety and collaborative practice while fostering a deeply resident-centered learning environment. Residents will have the opportunity to shape CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System's over 100 year storied legacy of healing in the Texarkana community and surrounding areas along with their own pharmacy careers.

Program Purpose
The PGY1 pharmacy residency program builds on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
