When detected early, breast cancer is a curable disease and for this reason we encourage the women of east Texas to take advantage of the various educational opportunities we offer through grants provided by Susan G. Komen – Tyler.
A Hopeful Journey I
Provides education and self breast exam training sessions for African American women in Smith County.
A Hopeful Journey II
Provides breast health and breast cancer education and outreach for, but not limited to, women between the ages of 45-55 and of all ethnic backgrounds in Smith County.
Here for the Journey
Provides breast cancer rehabilitation products to medically under-served women in Smith County. The products include prostheses, lymphedema sleeves, wigs, special bras, stocking caps and headware.

Provides education and self breast exam training sessions for Hispanic women in Smith County.
Breast Cancer Risk Evaluation and Action (RE-ACT)
Provides women, and rarely men, with medical genetics testing and evaluation, along with personalized recommendations for breast cancer prevention and early detection.
