CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System will break ground on the new Palestine emergency hospital at 10 a.m. on July 31.

Located adjacent to the CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic Magnolia Plaza clinic, the emergency hospital will feature 10 inpatient beds and 15 emergency room beds.

“We have had a great presence in Palestine with our Magnolia clinic, and this facility is going to take it to the next level,” said Jason Proctor, president of CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System.

The emergency hospital will offer a full array of imaging technology, including MRI, CT scan and X-ray. The facility will employ 25 full-time nurses and providers.

“To have a full-service emergency room with our incredible CHRISTUS emergency staff and our ability to treat and keep people who don’t need to be transferred is truly a blessing,” Proctor said. “To have people that can get their care in their hometown is very exciting for us.”

Quitman, Texas-based Jackson Construction will serve as lead construction company on the project.

The estimated time for completion is fall 2025.
