Outpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation
Our outpatient pediatric rehabilitation team specializes in treating children with developmental delays, genetic disorders, orthopedic injuries, muscle diseases, feeding difficulties, autism, and cerebral palsy. We specialize in evaluating and treating children from birth to 18 years of age. Our outpatient pediatric clinic is located at our CHRISTUS Ochsner Lake Area campus.
Our pediatric physical therapists address issues including decreased or increased muscle tone, decreased mobility, milestone delays, difficulty walking, decreased balance and coordination, and adaptive equipment needs. Our certified pelvic rehabilitation specialist treats conditions including urinary and bowel incontinence and constipation.
Our pediatric occupational therapists address issues including decreased independence with self-help skills, poor self-calming skills, visual motor delays, upper extremity function, fine motor delays, milestone delays, sensory processing issues, upper extremity splinting, and ocular motor issues related to reading and writing.
Our pediatric speech-language pathologists address communication difficulties, receptive and expressive language disorders, articulation and speech disorders, apraxia of speech, stuttering, feeding and swallowing, and tongue ties.
Pediatric Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy helps children improve their independence by developing activities of daily living skills such as eating, dressing, grooming and bathing. Occupational therapists can fabricate splints and assess the need for adaptive equipment.
