Family Medicine Residency
Welcome to the CHRISTUS Health/Texas A&M University School of Medicine – Family Medicine Residency in Corpus Christi, Texas. Since 1973, this three-year, ACGME accredited family medicine residency program has been training excellent clinicians capable of providing the full spectrum of care needed by the communities they serve.
While providing care to the underserved of the Coastal Bend, our residents learn through a balanced curriculum of rotational and longitudinal experiences. The program strives to be the best in the country by creating a culture of resident autonomy, with a hands-on approach to learning.
Our didactic curriculum is designed to enhance the educational experience through lectures, small group sessions and self-study. We also use an innovative approach to small group learning by having a protected class specific session each month. The curriculum in these sessions is driven by the residents to provide the extra instruction where they feel a need.
Residency will be a challenging time for anyone. So, spend the time with supportive faculty, staff and fellow residents. Your free time can be spent with family and friends along the famous beaches of Padre Island.
I am proud of our residency family and could not be more excited about our future. I hope you give us serious consideration for your residency training.
