Excellence in Clinical Care and Education
The CHRISTUS Health/Texas A&M University School of Medicine Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program is a one year, ACGME-certified program. The program consists of 13 rotations, including neurology, psychiatry, rehabilitation, hospice. palliative care, wound care and hospital consults. Longitudinal experiences include geriatric assessment clinic, long term care, home visits and didactics. The fellowship was established in 2006 and our first graduate, Dr. Scot Ireton has been a valuable faculty member ever since. All our faculty are very experienced and dedicated to teaching geriatrics. Eight graduates have successful geriatric practices here in Corpus Christi. Others have secured a variety of jobs throughout Texas and other states, including broad spectrum geriatrics, certified medical directors of long-term care facilities and academicians.
