Application Process
We appreciate your interest in the CHRISTUS Health/Texas A&M University School of Medicine Program – Emergency Medicine Residency (ACGME Program ID: 1104813188). Every academic year, we accept 12 PGY-1 residents.
We only consider complete applications submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Our program offers PGY-1 positions through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) and complies with their policies for all of our residency positions. We do not accept paper applications. Applicants must be in good standing with their medical school and have graduated within the last 5 years.
Once the ERAS post office opens on September 1st, please submit your application. Our deadline for application submission is November 15th. Addendums to applications (SLOEs, etc.) will continue to be downloaded to existing files; however, applications received after the deadline are not guaranteed to be reviewed. Interviews are granted on a rolling basis until all interview dates are full.
A complete application includes the following:
- Completed ERAS application
- Official medical school transcript
- Curriculum Vitae
- Dean’s Letter / MSPE
- USMLE and/or COMLEX Board Scores for Step I and Step II CK (It is highly recommended that you schedule Step II CK early in the year, so your scores will be available at the time of the interview. It is expected that applicants pass their Step I and Step II on the first attempt)
- Personal statement
- Three recent letters of recommendation (CORD SLOES, EM Specialty SLOES and OSLOES preferred) at least one of from an emergency medicine physician who directly supervised your clinical care
